
Employers who recruit an apprentice or trainee from the Out of Contract Register may be paid a competion payment of $4000 for eligible certificate III and above apprentices and trainees completing their training contract. The iniative is in place until 30 June 2012.

If you have taken on a new apprentice/trainee, the Department of Training and Workforce Development funds most training.
If you have an existing apprentice/trainee, funding is usually available if they are doing a certificate IV or above.
While apprentices/trainees are required to pay some fees to their registered training provider, some employers may pay this on their behalf.

The CTF, previously the BCITF, provides substantial incentives for employing an apprentice/trainee in specified building trades. A 12 month bonus incentive program will apply for apprentices/trainees/cadets whose training contracts are registered and who complete their probationary period on or after 1 January 2010. In addition, elgibility for the mature age bonus subsidy has changed from 30 years to 21 years and above. Additional subsidies will apply to apprentices who live in regional areas.
