Jessica Harper

Apprentice Automotive Technician

“I don’t think it’s a bad choice for a girl to get into, I’m not the only one out there. It’s a really positive industry. It’s changed now. It’s not so much male dominated anymore.”

Throughout her high school years, Jessica did a lot of work experience in the automotive industry. She fell in love with the trade, signed up for an apprenticeship and has never looked back. Automotive trades have traditionally been viewed as men’s work, however, Jessica has found the industry has changed and she is now one of many females in the workshop. On the weekends, Jessica competes in drag races.
