Aboriginal Cultural Awareness Training

A free Aboriginal Cultural Awareness program is being offered by the Department of Education and Training to those staff involved in the delivery of Aboriginal School Based Training.

The program has been specifically selected to provide participants with the knowledge and skills that will assist them to meet the needs of the young Aboriginal people undertaking Aboriginal School Based Training.  The program will cover:

  • Aboriginal history
  • Aboriginal culture
  • contemporary issues facing Aboriginal communities
  • working with young Aboriginal people.

The program is delivered by selected organisations and is available as either a full day (7.5 hours) or a half day (4 hours) program.  The programs are free of charge however additional charges may apply if an organisation requests a customised program outside normal hours.

How to register

  1. Select an organisation and contact them directly to discuss the program offered and determine if it's right for you.
  2. To register, complete the registration form and forward it to the organisation you have selected.
