Training the trainer

A free training program is available to provide skill sets designed to improve the training skills of work place supervisors of apprentices and trainees in any industry area.

In 2012 the program offers a skill set made up of the following three units drawn from the TAE10 Training and Education Training Package.

• TAEDEL301A - Provide work skill instruction
• TAEDEL404A - Mentor in the workplace
• TAEASS301B - Contribute to assessment

An additional unit - BSBCMM401A - Make a presentation may also be undertaken but only by workplace supervisors that make presentations to groups that exceed five apprentices or trainees.

The training is free of course and resource fees except that charges be levied by the training provider where an employer or the supervisor requests a customised training program outside normal working hours.

The training is available from selected registered training providers that have been appointed to a 2012 preferred provider panel. The panel lists contact details of the providers offering to deliver the training.

The training will only be provided to persons who are confirmed by their employer as being a person directly supervising formally indentured apprentices or trainees in the work place.

How to access the training

  1. Select a suitable training provider from the 2012 preferred provider panel and contact them directly to discuss the training program offered to determine if it’s right for you.
  2. Complete the registration form and take it to the selected training provider to enrol.

Industry specialists are available to answer any questions you may have at ApprentiCentre, call them on 13 19 54.
