Unemployed? You may be eligible for free training.

Find a course, upgrade your skills, turn your passion into a career or learn new skills to help get a job. Training WA is opening the door to a world of opportunities for all Western Australians.

If you’d like free training, course fee exemptions are available for eligible unemployed people for one publicly funded training course that leads to a qualification. The course fee exemptions apply for up to 12 months from when you start the course.

You may be eligible if you have a job seeker ID, receive Newstart (NS) or Youth Allowance (YA) payments. You will need to provide evidence of your eligibility to the training organisation.

If you think you may be eligible but do not have any proof of receipt of your unemployment benefit or job seeker status, contact your local Centrelink or Job Services Australia office.

You may need to pay for books and materials. Fees will be determined by the private training organisation or TAFE.

You will also need to follow the training organisation’s process for applying for the course and meet any entrance requirements and/or selection criteria.

Training WA can help you choose the right course from the range available.
