The Chamber of Minerals and Energy of Western Australia Inc (CME) is the peak resources sector representative body in Western Australia.

The Graham (Polly) Farmer Foundation

WA Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student of the Year 2009

In 1997 a group of people inspired by Graham (Polly) Farmer set up a Foundation to establish and manage after-school education support projects for Indigenous students who want to complete their secondary education and achieve Tertiary/TAFE Admission, or an Apprenticeship/Traineeship.

The Foundation now coordinates a number of projects, each tailored to suit an Indigenous community. The community members and the local context are essential drivers of each project.

The work of Graham (Polly) Farmer Foundation is based on a coordinated model of community development. The Foundation coordinates the actions of all other parties and provides a central point for funding and program management from private donors, governments, community interests and other stakeholders. The Foundation has developed a model for managing the projects which includes a steering committee of project partners who have responsibility to set the strategic direction.


 

Perth Convention Exhibition Centre

WA School-based Apprentice of the Year 2009

The Perth Convention Exhibition Centre (PCEC) is Western Australia’s only dedicated and purpose-built convention, exhibition and meeting venue. The state-of-the-art, three-level venue caters for up to 5,000 delegates. Its major facilities include six multi-function exhibition pavilions, the Riverside Theatre and the BelleVue Ballroom with views over Perth’s Swan River. PCEC also houses an additional 19 specialist meeting rooms, and floor-to-ceiling glass foyers on all three levels, offering unrivalled versatility for organisers.

PCEC’s award winning catering reflects Western Australia’s Mediterranean climate, using the best and freshest of local produce, while embracing Asian, classical European and other international culinary influences.

The Training Accreditation Council is Western Australia's State Registering/Course Accrediting Body and is responsible for quality assurance and recognition of vocational education and training services in Western Australia.

The Council is committed to being the national leader in the strategic management of the recognition and quality assurance of training, including associated policies, services and standards in the vocational education and training sector and to providing practical, efficient and responsive support for government, the State Training Board, industry training providers, and the community.
