AVETMISS

The Australian VET sector has a national data standard known as AVETMISS for Providers (Australian Vocational Education and Training Management Information Statistical Standard) to ensure reliability, validity and comparability of VET enrolment data across and within states.

The Western Australian VET Enrolment Data Standard (WA VET Enrolment Data Standard) incorporates the National Standard (AVETMISS) and the additional state requirements for the WA Department of Training and Workforce Development to support the management of the Western Australian VET sector.

The intended audience for the document includes data administrators and users within the Department of Training and Workforce Development, officers of public and private providers that are responsible for the reporting of student enrolments and designing systems, and commercial software developers.

The WA VET Enrolment Data Standard contains a comprehensive list of all files, relevant fields and code sets of the data model. The Data Standard is not written in terms of a specific student enrolment computer recording system.
